Drum Clinic

On Wednesday May 22, 2007 I took 9 of my students to a drum clinic hosted by Skip's Music at the State Theater in Modesto.  Dave Weckl presented a 2 hour plus clinic and master class of modern fusion jazz funk drumming.  He spent a great deal of time discussing the ideas from his 'Evolution' series instructional DVD's and not nearly enough time playing.  But when he did play it was intense!  He demonstrated his take on the Moller technique and energy flow.  He talked about drum and drumming history and heritage, drumming as an art form, drumming and musical foundations, time space and movement, becoming the time and intending the notes you play. In other words lots to think about.  He also demonstrated several practice drills for learning some of the ideas he shared.  Big thanks should go out to Skip's and The State Theater for having this NO COST event.  Dave's equipment suppliers were in full force with tons of swag and several great prises.  All in all a cool event for Modesto.  And a great event for me with my students.  They all had a good time and the drumming community and camaraderie they created and shared is something I will remember for a long time.  Thanks to all my students who came on our 'May field trip' and BIG THANKS AND LOVE to Mrs. Cota for providing the van so we could all go together.  Hope you guys read this and leave me some feedback.  Love and Happiness and remember,   DRUMS GOOD... MAKE HAPPY!!

The New Web Site is finally up!!!

Hello every body!  After many months of frustration and waiting the new Andersong Music web site is up and running.  Please take the time to check it out and give me any feedback you like.  I'm pretty stoked and would like to thank Lauri Day of KNXU Communications for a job well done.  I will be fine tuning the site as we go so keep coming back to check up on all things musical at Andersong.com.
